Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Food and drink
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Food and drink. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Food and drink|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Food and drink. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

- This article is defining the term and lists which things fall in the definition, and categorize them in various ways. This is not an encyclopedia article. - UtherSRG (talk) 17:29, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. I’m curious if the view is the article is not encyclopedic or that it’s not notable. If the former, the author could update it to be so. I do think it’s notable. Bryan MacKinnon (talk) 10:03, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- A Dictdef, by definition, is not enclyclopedic. This should not have been accepted at AFC as it is not an encyclopedia article. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:29, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

- Merge the first two paragraphs with Food contact materials whose scope already covers this topic and includes some of the impacts of chemical migration from packaging to food (legislation/regulations). The third paragraph might be salvagable, but a list of chemicals that can be found in food because of their packaging probably lacks too much context. ⇌ Synpath 14:54, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- Merge and Redirect: Not substantial enough to warrant a standalone page. Overlaps with the context and coverage of Food contact materials and should be merged with that article (with a redirect left in place). WeWake (talk) 17:59, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

If one checks Google News and other news, the company cannot be named notable. Just random here and there blogs, mentions, wp:churnalism, newswire releases, WOW award, RMAI Flame award. The previous discussion was not representative and resulted in no consensus. Many of the sources have been already removed as spam. NiftyyyNofteeeee (talk) 10:00, 5 June 2025 (UTC)

- Delete – Of the references for DestaGlobal, Startup Success Stories India, Techcircle, Business Standard India, The Hindu Business Line (partially neutral), InterCon Dubai (YouTube), EVENTFAQS Media, Rural Marketing, and Digital Empowerment Foundation are focused on DestaGlobal’s success, awards, and positive impact. Most of these are based on the company’s claims without independent verification. The National and The Hindu are references that adhere to journalistic standards, providing neutral information about DestaGlobal’s work, but they lack detailed information. Hence, they are not sufficient to strongly support the claims. Some people may have different opinions about these two sources.-SachinSwami (talk) 7:01, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

Fails WP:NBIO. Lacks significant and independent coverage. The Economic Times article [1] only includes a passing mention of this person. Fancy Refrigerator (talk) 01:46, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- Delete. I was not able to find any significant coverage outside of paid media and advertorials. Note that a few of the Indian news mentions are advertorials that are not clearly identified - indiatoday, ETNow and the TOI at least have marked theirs this time. SiliconIndia is a paid placement farm run by a marketer. The Economic Times article is also labeled as an advertorial with disclaimers of editorial control, and as Mr. Refrigerator notes, it's a minor mention. Everything else I found was junk. Sam Kuru (talk) 03:18, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- Just noting the the creator of the article has added another source which is unfortunately to businessworld.in; the "bw online bureau" is a take-all-comers byline and a great example of WP:NEWSORGINDIA. See example at the solicitation here. The material is just AI jumbled PR similar to the labeled advertorial at indiatoday. I think that given the amount of blackhat garbage is the field, it's going to be difficult to find anything organic.Sam Kuru (talk) 11:19, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

- Fire-King (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
This article has existed for over 20 years and does not have any citations that are not primary sources (that is, from Anchor Hocking, the company that makes Fire-King branded glass products). The lack of citations has been noted before. The claims made on this page may be true. But citations have not surfaced. For those that wish to keep, perhaps citations can be dug up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Louiemantia (talk • contribs) 08:28, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

- Keep It's clear from the list in Further Reading that there are 6 books about Fire-king glassware, so it clearly meets WP:GNG with plenty of specific named, independent, reliable, significiant secondary sources. The fact that they have not been used as inline citations is not a reason to delete the article, per WP:NEXIST. RebeccaGreen (talk) 12:50, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

This article, like the article for Fire-King, does not have many citations, and the citation needed tags are everywhere, making it clear that the lack of citations has been known. Citations have not surfaced. For those that wish to keep this page, perhaps citations can be found. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Louiemantia (talk • contribs) 08:36, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

- Comment Notability is there, but the article need cleanup, and the barrage of CN tags isn't helping. There are two books listed as sources. Here are some more sources I found searching. Not sure they're all reliable, and I can't access the paywalled ones, but I'm pretty sure there are a couple good ones among the collection: [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] -- Avocado (talk) 18:23, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- Keep In addition to the sources already in the article, and those found by user Avocado, I have found a book, Jadite: An Identification and Price Guide [9], which has no preview on Google Books, but has 168 pages and covers "the works of the three major glass companies that produced jadite: McKee, Jeannette, and Anchor Hocking." There is enough SIGCOV to meet WP:GNG, even though we may not be able to immediately add inline citations from all the sources. RebeccaGreen (talk) 13:06, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

The article appears to be promotional in nature, focusing exclusively on a specific master's program without providing evidence of any notability. Even basic online research shows no indications of academic recognition, such as rankings or third-party evaluations. Chiserc (talk) 14:37, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

- I was considering with Erasmus Mundus, since the program has many coordinated universities. However, this is also highly promotional and may be nominated for deletion, particularly under Wikipedia:Blow it up and start over. Chiserc (talk) 14:40, 6 June 2025 (UTC)

- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
Has lacked sufficient independent sources for a number of years. Appears known only for multi-level-marketing invesigrations, and no real WP:SIGCOV. ZimZalaBim talk 22:12, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep: Thanks, ZimZalaBim for notifying me. I see I did make one substantial edit to this article. It was in relation to Gano Excel, Organo Gold, Direct Selling Association and Vemma—as relates to the Italian government finding Vemma was a pyramid scheme, and Chua was part of it. Whether Chua is wiki-level notable himself, or not, I think there's enough notability for the companies. Since the Chua BLP existed already, it was the article I stuffed the content into. I wouldn't mind if the content was stowed somewhere else and the redirects changed accordingly. ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 02:25, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

- Weak delete Unfortunately its notoriously hard not to find sources for MLMs that are not astroturf/PR articles. There is only one quality source which is the CBS News one. The sources being dominated by advisories makes the impression that the article was made as a Wikipedia:RIGHTGREATWRONGS to fight against Chua and his business model.
