Good day po! This is Gem Mallorca, Production Editor of Vibal Foundation. May I know your email address or any contact detail where I can reach you? Thank you very much! — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 45.64.83.114 (talk) 01:00, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sanglahi86,
Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed File:Labelled map of the Philippines - Provinces and Regions.png is out of date. Compostela Valley is now Davao de Oro. Could you update it? Thanks again. hueman1 (talk) 01:38, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wikimedian,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on UTC.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

Thanks for uploading File:REX Education logo.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{self|cc-zero}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

File:Smoke billows out of the Manila Central Post Office building in Liwasang Bonifacio on May 22, 2023.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Attention

[edit]

Hello Sanglahi86. Since you also conduct categorization fixes to many Judge Floro files, you may be using Cat-a-lot. However, it is experiencing slower performance, due to the API rate limit imposed by WMF, yet it is gaining criticism from many Commons users. The discussion: MediaWiki talk:Gadget-Cat-a-lot.js#Very slow performance. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 04:21, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the information. That is unfortunate; Cat-a-lot is extremely useful in reorganizing Judge Floro's images. I will read the (long) discussion later since I am currently busy in editing Philippine Catholic churches in Wikipedia. Once I finish going through all the remaining churches I have to edit (hopefully less than a month), I will begin focusing on refining image categories here in Commons. Best regards. Hello. This category is messed up; it's supposed to only contain images showing clothes being dried after laundry (as evidenced by the category of this category). Though many of the images (mainly by Judge Floro) show the clothing being sold in palengkes. Those must be placed in more suitable categories. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contributions) 18:37, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see. I moved several images to a new category Category:Clothing racks in the Philippines categorized under Category:Clothing racks. I left some images that are quite ambiguous. Please double check. Sanglahi86 (talk) 09:21, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I moved five more images to clothing racks category, as I infer that the clothes were being sold than being dried. Perhaps the categories are OK for now. Thanks for the help. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contributions) 10:55, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Category name

[edit]

Why have you moved Category:Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish Church (Iriga) to Category:Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish Church (Iriga, Camarines Sur)? The main category of the city is Category:Iriga. There is no need to make the category name unnecessarily long by introducing a disambiguator when there is only one city that is named Iriga on Commons. WikiEditor50 (talk) 15:58, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A disambiguator is generally only used when there could be potential confusion in a category's name. Look at the category "Rizal Monument (Iriga)" for example. There is no province after "Iriga" because the main category for the city is "Iriga". WikiEditor50 (talk) 16:08, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Primarily, I moved it because it makes re-categorization much easier to identify the provinces they belong to when using Cat-a-lot. Could you provide a link to the Commons policy regarding your suggestion? I would want to read about it. Sanglahi86 (talk) 10:07, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is no need to use province-name disambiguation for Iriga, because there are no other incorporated municipalities worldwide named Iriga. We normally don't deal with nuances of the convoluted classifications of incorporated municipalities here (independents/HUCs, non-independents/components, or non-independent towns/PH municipalities). See Category:Populated places in Camarines Sur and Category:Populated places in Cebu (province) as examples. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contributions) 02:33, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Kadı Message 01:02, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I am humbled to receive this rights. Best regards. Sanglahi86 (talk) 01:06, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sanglahi86, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:

  • Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
  • Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
  • Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.
Kadı Message 12:26, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. From now on, all files of official documents must be tagged with {{PD-Philippines-exempt}}, rather than the occasionally-contentious {{PD-PhilippinesGov}} tag. Since all PH government documents are "official text[s] of a legislative, administrative or legal nature" as cited under Section 175 (not Section 176), the Philippine version of PD-exempt tag is the most appropriate license tag for such files. For example, File:Republic Act No. 10175 (20120912-RA-10175-BSA).pdf. (If curious about the other countries, see also Category:PD-exempt license tags).
